Earth Rise 2006

Earth Rise 2006 – A two act poetry play.

Earth Rise was the first play produced by NRP and was the start of their development stage; produced when both artist were just entering the arts industry.

Earth Rise” covers a 24 hour period on a high street in a multicultural city and highlights what happens when worlds collide.

Breaking down barriers, blending conventions, celebrating diversity. Act 1: “one more than eight” explores perception, starting with the view inside each one of us and leads into Act 2 and the way we view the world outside of us.

In Act 2: “Different Truths” everyday people take you through their life in a day and the experience of growing up in a multicultural society. Reminding us that we do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.

A collaboration between an urban style DJ and spoken word artist, Nine Red Presents a collection of poetry celebrating diversity, by exploring the history and value of all people and all cultures.

Earth Rise takes us on a journey that hopes to make each one of us explore ourselves and understand the others around us.

In the soul of all humans is a space where logic and reason meet imagination and creativity. We call this space the open mind.  It is a natural human instinct to want to explore and understand.  Just as our ancestors embarked on voyages around the globe, we too must take a journey, to the only place not yet travelled, not yet explored…that uncharted territory within us all.

What we see is not always what we get.  We all have different viewpoints, a different way of viewing things.  There are always three sides to every story; your truth, my truth and The Truth.  We all have different stories; different points of view… Different Truths.
