Poems by Naz

"DARKNESS MAKES SENSE" is the latest work that Naz has produced on this subject;  over the years Naz has written and performed a variety of work around this theme.  Naz wrote and performed "Death Of A Woman" for the first time in 2002 at the "International Woman's Day Celebration"  at  Luton University.  In 2001 she wrote and performed "Eve-Olution" at the Harrow Anti Racial Alliance 'Shining Stars' and 'Cultural day' events.

"THIRST" was written in 1999, and first performed on stage during "Earth Rise" a Nine Red Presents...(cic) production in 2006 at Luton Library Theatre.  During this stage show, Naz also debuted; "Silence Shouts (1990), "Street Wars" (1994) and "Fist Filled With Promises" (2001).

Naz's Metaphysical Style

From an early age Naz possessed the unique ability to view the world with analysis and philosophies far beyond her years.

Her first play "Legacy" (2002)  was a great illustration of how she balances the wisdom of Aesop, with a fresh childlike innocence. A genuine poet, writer and storyteller, much of her work has this metaphysical slant, see some of her poetry that is the true testament to her artistic value, click on the links below.

"I never chose to write, words chose me to be their writer"   Naz Knight

The play "Earth Rise" (2006) itself was written as a journey through the human subconscious; a play of two halves -

Act I: 'One More Than Eight' was completely metaphysical and set in the soul of all humans (The on stage action taking place in a space where logic & reason meet imagination and creativity)

Act II: 'Different Truths' conversely was completely physical and set on an everyday high street and depicted the people that pass down that road, the events taking place inside, outside, at the bus stop or park, and presented the view that maybe not everything is always as it seems.

"Earth Rise" (2006) was the perfect vehicle within which to perform "Silent Shouts", "Death Of A Woman" and "Fist Filled With Promises" as unique art forms, performed using actors, singers and a DJ, blending spoken word, music and action to deliver the poems in a truly powerful way.
